Remember, You Are Important Too!
As I'm writing this, I'm experiencing some pain in my body. In spite of this, I want to make sure that everyone is OK and see that their needs are being taken care of. Yes, I feel the pain but I push myself because I know that there are things to do. Enters my husband who tells me I need to take it easy and take better care of myself.
I'm not sure where this comes from but we as women have a problem when it comes to taking care of ourselves. Yes, it's honorable to care for others, think about others and be concerned. But there's a fine line between being diligent in making sure things are done and overworking yourself in the process.
We all have things to do. We all have the day-to-day responsibilities. We have families, ministries, careers, businesses etc. But throughout it all, we have to make sure to take care of ourselves. Imagine if nothing or no one was taken care simply because we were too ill or too exhausted to do so?
It's time to step up our self care Lovies. It's time to take time out of our busy schedules and commit to making sure that our spiritual, physical, emotional and mental health is up to par. It is absolutely not selfish to take care of yourself even if that means telling others NO so that you can tell yourself YES!
