It's Monday and It's Definitely a Good Day!

Happy New Week Beautifuls :)

Yesterday, one of my nephews asked me what's my favorite day of the week.  Without hesitation, I told him Monday, to which my oldest son replied, "Monday?! Mondays are trash!" (Sidenote: "Trash" is the word that my fairly new teenager uses to describe his dislike and/or disapproval of something. *insert side-eye).  My nephew then asked me why did I choose Monday.  I told him that Mondays symbolize a fresh start to me.  It's the beginning of the work week and it gives you the chance and opportunity to set the tone for the rest of the week.

Now, I have to say: I didn't always feel this way about Mondays. In fact, at one point in time, Friday was my favorite day of the week because it symbolized the end of the week where I could take a break from my 9-5 and FINALLY enjoy my life.  Imagine that. I believed that I was only truly living on Saturdays and Sundays.

But fast forward to today.

I have a new mindset where instead of me just being so excited about something ending, I now get more excited about something beginning.  Why? Well, because I get to start over.  I get to begin again.  I get a second (sometimes 1,00th) chance to get things right.  Not too many people are excited about the Mondays because of what it represents: The end of the weekend which mean the start of a new work week at a job we're not excited about going to. We're not excited about 5 days of work that we have to endure to get to the 2 days of fun that we really want.

But what if we changed our mindset? What if we look at them differently?

I challenge you today to take a good look at your life and what you can set in place this week to make your life better for this week. What (and even who) can you say no to so you can say yes to yourself? What can you get done this week that is in alignment and agreement with your goals? What can you give your all to this week if you knew that you there's no possible way for you to fail?

Let's begin to celebrate Monday's Beautifuls because of the newness that it brings.  Don't waste the time you have now to start your week off right by focusing on hurrying to get to the weekend. The weekend will come but what about your new beginning?

Amy :)
