RPR Blogger, Jhotee Mosley: "Out with the old, In with the new: Three Steps to Change"
Hello Roxie’s Powder Room!
I want to first give glory to my Father who is in Heaven. Without Him, nothing would be possible. I also want to thank my sister in Christ, Mrs. Amy Ricks, for presenting me with this opportunity to blog for RPR.
As every year comes to an end, a tradition has developed for one to make "New Year's Resolutions". Depending on how committed a person is, these goals are either achieved or discarded. Achieved goals are merely a reflection of determination. A person possessing the quality of being determined has the desire for success and to be successful, you have hit the mark on purpose. Discarded goals are merely a reflection of being uncommitted and when one is uncommitted, there's usually a resistance to change. Change isn’t always easy, especially when we have developed bad habits we are comfortable with.
The definition of change is, "the act or instance of making or becoming different". How determined are you to be different than you were last year or even yesterday? Regardless if change is easy or challenged, allow for 2016 to be the year of the new YOU! We all have ONE chance at life, so don’t let another year go by with unfulfilled expectations and discarded goals.
For those who are desiring change, here are three simple steps to make any change possible:
Step One: EXAMINE YOU
Take a good, honest look at yourself to see where changes can be made. Keep in mind that there is always room for change and growth, no matter how old we are. Once you see the changes that need to be made, write them down in a journal. Be sure to review these changes at least twice a week.
Step Two: PACE YOURSELF
We all tend to become overwhelmed when we have too much on our plate. Focus on one goal at a time. When we rush to complete our goals, we tend to miss things that are important. Don’t focus on how long it may take you to accomplish your goals. Instead, continuously remind yourself of why you wanted to change in the first place! Embrace change and take it one step at a time.
Step Three: BE FAITHFUL AND CONSISTENT
This final step is vitally important to your success. You must stay faithful and consistent. You deserve to accomplish every goal you have ever desired. So be consistent until your goal is achieved, and you will be successful in your own way.
I pray that 2016 will be the year you transform into the NEW you! There is nothing you can’t accomplish, as long as you put your mind to it! You will overcome!
Love and blessings to you ALL,
