His Grace is Sufficient

Hey there Lovebugs :)

This was pressing on my heart to write and share with you all.  I hope it ministers to you as it did to me!

Going through this journey called life, we will face A LOT.  We'll face good times and rough times, happy times and sad times and times of plenty as well as times of lack.  Everything is good when things are going good but when things take a turn for the worst (or what we think is the worst), it's like all of hell breaks loose.

During these times of trials and adversities, it's like we have to reach into our reserve tanks that were filled during the times of "good".  We have to sustain ourselves with the good energy that we've stored up to make it through the times of drought.  It's interesting when the rough seems SO rough, like there's no way out, we seek God in ways that we never have before.  We come before His throne with our mouths filled with praise.  Our hearts are set on seeking Him for guidance and direction, even for comfort.  When we get to the portion of the conversation when it's God's turn to speak, He simply says,"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV). What you say God?!?

When we look up the word sufficient, we find that it means "enough, adequate".  So God is saying, "My grace is enough.  It's all you need at this point."  Now some of us get offended, upset even when God doesn't change our unpleasant circumstances the moment we say "Amen" at the end of our prayer request.  We believe that God should change our situations at the drop of a dime simply because we asked Him too.  Oh, if only it were that simple!  For some of us, God's perfect will is for us to stay exactly where we are, in the season that we're in, so that He can get the desired outcome from us that He's seeking!  Think about it:  Some of us did not master the art and skill of patience until we were forced to wait for something.  Some of us did not master the art and skill of endurance until we were placed in a situated where we had to endure.

What I'm saying Lovies is HOLD ON!  I know that it's easier said than done.  I know that it hurts.  I know that it's uncomfortable.  But we have to trust and believe that God will allow for everything to work out for our good (Romans 8:28), even when it looks ugly and even when it's unbearable.  God is a GREAT God even when His ways of doing things don't look so great.  Can we trust that God will see us through and allow for us to emerge from the fire of adversity and challenges without a scar or a wound but with a testimony that could possibly save someone else?

Are you ready to keep going?  I am!  I'm right here with you.  But more importantly... so is God!

Amy :)
