Can you give God praise no matter what? Or is God only good when things are going good?
Many of us have praise God conditionally. When things are going good, then God is good! We will run around the church, give our biggest offering and scream it to the hills all of the wonderful things He has done! But what happens when we are smack dab in the middle of a storm? What happens when we are cornered on every side with adversity? Suddenly, our praise goes cold. Our worship goes stale. It's almost as if God is only worth praising when things are good. Well, I'm here to tell you, HALLELUJAH ANYHOW!
I Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV) says, "In every thing, give thanks" It doesn't say, in good times, give thanks. It doesn't say, in times of plenty, give thanks. It says, in EVERY thing, give thanks. We have to bless God at all times, because HE is GOOD, even when our situations are not. God's goodness is not dependent on our circumstances. His goodness is not based on whether or not we are having a bad day. Many of us struggle with praising God during the rough times because we base His goodness on WHAT can He do instead of basing it on WHO He is! But here's the thing: God is good NO MATTER WHAT because He IS good!
So, Lovebugs, we need to have a HALLELUJAH ANYHOW spirit. We need to bless God because of Who He is, not just because of what He can do. Psalm 34:1 says, "I will bless the at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth." Will you give God glory despite how you're feeling and what's going on around you? Yes? Well HALLELUJAH ANYHOW!
