31 Days of Prayer: Day 8

Good Morning Everyone :)

Before a soldier is sent out for battle, they are armed. They obtain everything they will need to battle effectively and they use wise tactics. They educate themselves on their opponent, study the battlefield and obey the instructions given to them by their leader.

Today we are going to pray for the armor of God. Ephesians 6:11-18 describes how God (our Leader) instructs and arms us (His soldiers) to effectively war against the enemy (our opponent).

We are involved in spiritual warfare. As we draw closer to God through prayer and are intentional about strengthening and growing our relationship with Him, He will reveal things to us (His will, our calling, purpose, etc) and also position us to fulfill His will on Earth.

Are you ready to war?

Sample prayer:

"Father in the name of Jesus, I pray that You forgive me of my sins, sins of omission and sins of commission, sins done in thought, word and deed. And I thank You Lord for giving me a forgiving heart, that I may forgive those who trespass against me just as You oh God forgive me of my trespasses in Jesus name. Father I ask and thank You for allowing me to have on the full armor of God. Lord I ask and bless You for the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the sword of the word of God, the belt of truth and our feet shod in the peace of the Good News. You are such a good Father to equip us each and every day with what we need to fulfill Your will and to walk in Your ways. Thank You for keeping us oh Lord and guaranteeing us the victory, in Jesus name Amen"

Reference scripture

Ephesians 6:11-18 NKJV

"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints"
