31 Days of Prayer: Day 3

Good Morning :)

It's Day 3 Ladies and Gentleman! Yesterday, we prayed for God's heart. Today, we're going to pray for our own. We're going to pray to have a heart like God's. Since these 32 Days of Prayer are about drawing closer to God and strengthening the relationships we have with Him, how wonderful it will be to have a heart like His. To actually care for the things He cares for. To love the way that He loves. To handle things the way He would.

Today in your journals, write down those things that you believe keep you from having a heart after Gods. Be honest. There's no need to be ashamed nor embarrassed. Disclosure is essential in relationships so being real with God is the way to go. After you write down these things, consider them your own personal prayer topics to approach God with for His assistance with overcoming. See, some of us make having a relationship with God seem so hard. We think we have to perfect, to know it and be "right" or else He won't want anything to do with us. But think about this: if we were perfect, then Jesus died for nothing...

Sample prayer:

"Father God in the name of Jesus, I pray that You forgive me of my sins, sins of omission and commission, since done in thought word and deed. Father I thank You for giving me a forgiving heart that I may forgive those who trespass against me just as You dear God forgive me of my trespasses in Jesus name. Lord I lift up my heart unto You. I pray dear God in the name of Jesus to have a heart after Your own. I pray God that you perform spiritual triple bypass surgery on my heart so that I may love like You, forgive like You and have compassion like You. Cleanse my heart oh Lord of everything that is not like You. Create in me a clean heart oh Lord so that I may be pleasing to you. I thank You for renewing, restoring and reviving my heart so that when people see me, they are seeing You, in Jesus name Amen"
