31 Days of Prayer: Day 29

Good Morning Everyone :)

Would people describe you as a committed person?  Do you struggle making commitments?  Are you "all in" when things are going good but at the first sign of adversity, do you want to give up?

Before we walk into a new year, it's important that we commit (and in some cases recommit) ourselves back to the Lord. We need to make up our minds and be committed about the things of God.

As we pray for commitment today, I want us to think and write about how the Lord wants us to act, think and behave differently. I want us to also consider the importance of the commitment that we are making to the Lord.

The great thing about committing ourselves to God, His word, His will and His ways is that He will help us to do it.  He will provide us with what we need to do things His way but one of things we will need to put in action is commitment.
Sample prayer

"Father in the name of Jesus, I pray that You forgive me of my sins, sins of omission and sins of commission, sins done in thought, word and deed. And I thank You Lord for giving me a forgiving heart, that I may forgive those who trespass against me just as You oh God forgive me of my trespasses in Jesus name. Father, I come before You, making a commitment to You. You said that I can do all things through You Who strengthen me, so I believe that I can stay committed to You and all things concerning You. Please Lord change everything about me to make sure I honor this commitment to You so that I am not giving You lip service. Thank You oh Lord for the opportunity to commit myself to You, Your word, Your will and Your ways before this new year so that with You, I can walk into a new year ready, armed, prepared and most importantly, committed. In Jesus name, Amen"
