31 Days of Prayer: Day 14
Good Morning Everyone :)
31 Days of Prayer is all about drawing closer to God and strengthening our relationships with Him through prayer. It is my prayer that these last two weeks have been life changing. I pray that we feel closer to God than we have before. I also pray that we are committed to strengthening our relationship with God long after these 31 Days of Prayer are over.
Today, we are going to pray to be a Bride of Christ (yes, men can be the Bride of Christ too!) . Now, some of you may be wondering, what does that mean? Well, God refers to the church, the body of Christ as His "bride" and being a Bride of Christ is similar to being a bride/groom to a man/woman. When we're married to someone, we're committed to them. We're loyal, faithful, thoughtful, mindful, kind, loyal and other great things to them. We're in a covenant relationship that no one should come in between. Now, does this describe your relationship with God?
Nothing that God blesses us with is greater THAN HIM. Our spouses, children, careers, ministries, wealth etc. do not come before God. Ask yourself, is there anything/anyone more important to you than God? Are there some things/people that you put before Him? If the answer is yes, confess your sins to God and allow Him to show how to put and keep Him first and to be the Bride of Christ that you know you can be!
"Father in the name of Jesus, I pray that You forgive me of my sins, sins of omission and sins of commission, sins done in thought, word and deed. And I thank You Lord for giving me a forgiving heart, that I may forgive those who trespass against me just as You oh God forgive me of my trespasses in Jesus name. Father I come before You confessing that I have not been or don't know how to be a Bride of Christ. Please show me Lord how to honor You, to love You, to be faithful to You and surrender all to You. Thank You God for forgiving me and cleansing me of all unrighteousness. My desire is to please You. My desire is to know You deeply. Thank You for allowing me to have a relationship with You and entering my life so that I can live for You, in Jesus name Amen"
Isaiah 62:5 NKJV
"For as a young man marries a virgin, So shall your sons marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you."
Deuteronomy 6:5 MSG
"Love GOD, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!"
1 John 5:1-3 MSG
"Every person who believes that Jesus is, in fact, the Messiah, is God-begotten. If we love the One who conceives the child, we’ll surely love the child who was conceived. The reality test on whether or not we love God’s children is this: Do we love God? Do we keep his commands? The proof that we love God comes when we keep his commandments and they are not at all troublesome."
