Walking with Jesus
Hey there Lovebugs :)
Happy Thursday! What does it mean to walk with Jesus? Ok, all of us are on a journey. Some of us know where we're going. Others, not so much. The truth of the matter is, we are all created for a purpose, something that only we can do and do well. What am I called to do? What is my purpose? Well, the only way to truly find the answers that we seek is to walk with Jesus.
God knew exactly what He was doing when He made us. First off, we're made in His image (Genesis 1:27). That means, to be made in the image of God is to made in the image of Someone Who's grand, excellent and above and beyond. And since God is all of those things and we're made in His image, that means we posses those traits too! Second, since God made us, He knows what we are suppose to do while we're here on this Earth. He knows what our callings, purposes and assignments are. So... to discover where are destined to on our journey, we need to walk with HIM!
Walking with Jesus will require dedication, commitment and obedience. Jesus will show us where to go, how to get there and what to do once we arrive. And all we have to do is OBEY HIM! So here me when I say this: walking with Jesus will NOT always be easy! The journey is full of twists and turns, trials and tribulations, the unexpected and the surprising. We may think it's best to go in one direction but Jesus can pull us in another. We may want to take the easy road but Jesus will tell us to take the long route.
Walking with Jesus will also involve trust... a lot of it. We have to trust that God knows what He's doing and that He will steer us in the right direction. Think about this: when we have problems with our car, we can take it back to the dealership. We take it back to the dealership because they sold us the car therefore, are knowledgeable about the car. Same thing with God. God created us. We wanna know "how we work". So what do we do? Go BACK to God to find out what to do and how to do it. And this process is all about walking with Jesus.
So Lovebugs, walking with Jesus will lead us to our purpose and also will definitely cause us to change. Whenever we spend an extensive amount of time with someone, we start picking up some of their habits and sayings. As we walk with Jesus, we'll start to pick up His ways, His habits and traits, which is an awesome thing! But the BEST part about the walk is, throughout all of the twists and turns, the trials and tribulations, He promises to NEVER leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6)!
