Happy Saturday Lovebugs :)
Whenever we start something, do we always have the discipline to finish? Think about it: we get so excited whenever we start a project, whether it's painting our homes or making the decision to go back to school. We're so excited in the beginning, feeling like we can do anything. Then something happens. The excitement starts to dwindle. The passion may slow down a bit. Then before you know it... we stop. But why? Well... we're lacking discipline.
We feed off the excitement, the thrill. But once the thrill is gone, we think that's it. GAME OVER! But the thing is, it's only just begun because this is where discipline comes in. Dictionary.com defines discipline as "behavior and order maintained by training and control". So discipline involves a certain level of self-control. Are we able to push ourselves even when we don't feel like doing anything? Are we able to complete what we set out to do even after the thrill is gone?
This is an area that can be challenging as well for me but what helps is to remind ourselves of why we started in the first place. Also, visualizing what we want in the long run can provide us with the motivation to cross that finish line. So all in all Lovies, it's time to be disciplined. No longer will we leave a trail of unfinished projects behind us. For 2014, when we start something, we WILL finish! Passion mixed with discipline and a heap of self control will propel us to success and the accomplishment of our goals!
Let's get disciplined!
"For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." (Hebrews 12:11 ESV)
