The Power of Goals and Affirmations
Hey Lovebugs J
Sadly, some of
us aren’t sure where we’re going because we haven’t taken the time to really
consider it. We’ve gotten so use to our
daily routine and our comfort zone that we don’t see the countless minutes and
hours that are passing by. Then when we
do take a second to come up for air, five years have passed by and we wonder
where did the time go?!? Some of us have
even accepted the idea that living this way is as good as it gets. We think, we have a pretty good job, a steady
paycheck coming in, family is straight, I’m cool, & everything is good… or
is it? If that were so, why are so many
of us unfulfilled or miserable even?
Some of us even say to ourselves, it’s gotta be something out there
better than this! It’s in THAT moment
that we can begin to dig deeper and discover what it is that we can do to begin
to be fulfilled in EVERY aspect of our lives.
Yes, it’s is possible to pursue fulfillment and achieve it but it will
require us to come out of our infamous comfort zones. :-/
Making that
step out of our comfort zone will require some time. We can begin to think about what a fulfilled
life looks like and what we can do to get it.
Enter goals and affirmations. There is power in setting goals and
creating affirmations. They can serve as
a roadmap to get us to where we want to be from where we are now. When it comes to writing your goals and
affirmations, it’s best to envision the end result of what you are trying to
accomplish. For example, say one of your
ultimate goals is to save $1000. Now
that we have the end result, now it’s time to break it down into steps. Some possible steps could be to save
$100/month for the next 10 months or since it’s tax season, depending on your
return, set aside $1000 to put into an account and promise to leave it
there. In addition to your plan to save
$1000, you can apply affirmations to support you keeping your goals. For
instance, you can say “I am a saver” or “I can save $1000”. Speaking those things you want into existence
has so much power. When you begin to
repeat your affirmations, you actually start believing them. Speaking those things into existence has SO
much power so it’s very careful to be mindful of what we say.
