The New Normal

Hey there Lovebugs :)

Happy Tuesday!  Across the nation, children are going back to school, fresh off of their Spring Break vacation.  During the break, we celebrated Passover,Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday.  We were given a fresh reminder of the sacrifice that Jesus made when He died on the cross for us.  We celebrated. We laughed. We cried. We rejoiced.  Now that Holy Week and it's festivities have ended until next year... now what?

Some of us receive revelation, breakthrough, healing, deliverance, etc.  We feel SO good at the moment, like we can conquer any and everything!  We feel unstoppable, Holy Ghost filled, and determined!  But then after the celebration, after the moment subsides.. now what?  We go back to business as usual?  We go back to our regularly scheduled program?  Now that the celebration and party is over does that mean what we experienced during that moment of revelation, breakthrough, healing and deliverance is over too?  ABSOLUTELY NOT!  The fun is actually beginning!

It's amazing how some of us are so use to being broken, so use to being mistreated, so use to being bound that when God comes and sets us free, it feels... wrong. It feels weird, like something isn't right.  And because it doesn't feel right, we think it isn't.  So what do we do?  We resort back to old habits and old thoughts because it's familiar, even though these are the same destructive habits and thoughts that we've been praying to be delivered from!  Make NO sense right?!   So what do we need to do? Create the NEW NORMAL!

In order to create the new normal, we must renew our minds.  Everything begins as a thought.  Thoughts then manifest themselves into action.  Think about this:  What was the last thing you thought about that you acted on?  Whether you were right or dead wrong, you may have thought something, believed it and acted on it.  So we have to be careful of the things we think because eventually those thoughts will become the things we do.  Proverbs 23:7 says "for as he thinks in his heart, so is he" (NKJV).  So whatever we think, is!  Whatever thoughts that we entertain, become manifested.  So, because of that, we have to make sure that we are thinking the right things.  How do we do that?  Meditate on the word!  The more we read the word, the more God can begin to change our thoughts.  Phillipians 4:8 says " Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things." (NKJV).  God's word will transform the way we think, therefore transforming the way we act, therefore transforming the way we live, therefore creating the NEW NORMAL!

So Lovebugs, you AND I can create the new normal starting today by committing to renewing our minds.  As we partner with God and welcome His healing, deliverance and breakthrough, we can then embrace our new normal, day by day, regardless of how we feel.  Before we know it, freedom will actually feel GOOD, deliverance will actually feel GREAT!  So much so, that we will do ANYTHING to keep us from slipping from the new back to the old!

"...old things have passed away, behold all things are new" 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

Amy :)
