Love is Not Jealous

Hey there Lovebugs :)

Has this ever happened to you:  You're the star pupil in your class. Everyone knows that if somebody knows the answer it's you. Then all of a sudden, the new kid comes in, taking away all of your attention. You don't like that. So you start doing and saying small things to them because you're annoyed.

Is this type of behavior??

Jealous is define as "hostile toward a rival or one believed to enjoy an advantage" (Merriam-Webster). If we think that someone has the "upper hand" or is further along than us and we act in a manner that's not pleasant towards them, we're jealous. If we see that someone is receiving something that we believe we should be getting too and then hate on them, we're jealous. If we feel that someone receives far better treatment than we do (whether true or not) and we treat that person harshly, we're jealous. And according to I Corinthians 13:4, that's NOT love!

A jealous love is not love at all! Jealousy invokes feelings of hatred, anger and hostility, which are FAR from love. Do you love jealously?  Do you treat those whom you perceive to have an advantage over you differently? If so, that stops TODAY!

So do your best Lovies to examine whether or not your operating in jealousy when comes to love. If you do find any traces if it, confess it to God, repent, work with Him to overcome it and get it moving!

Let's show God that we can love each other, especially when the worlds is watching!

Xo,
Amy :)
