"A Double minded man with an unbridled tongue!"  by Daphne Curry

The scriptures I'll be coming from is James 1:6-8 & James 3:9

“But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.  Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.” (James 1:6-8 NLT)
….If with our tongue "we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men…" (James 3:9 NKJV)
Definition of a double mind: Having different minds at different times confused in ones thoughts, restless, and always in conflict with self.
Unstable: an example of being unstable is like a drunken individual trying to walk a straight line for the

When having a double mind or being in a state of a double mind; one becomes agitated with self and they start to go back and forth like they're playing tug of war to keep themselves balanced and trying not to pull themselves in the mud. That reminds of the scripture in Ephesians 4:14 (NLT) where it reads, “Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. So with this being said I ask you this question “Is your mind healthy or double minded?”
But often times one will lose that tug of war and end up falling in the mud because of disobedience which leads themselves to being unstable in their hearts and minds all because him/her does not want to do what GOD SAYS but do what self says and we wonder why our faith is a roller coaster because we as an individual is too busy leaning on ourselves and not on GOD.

Our faith must be that of Hebrews 11:1 “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we don't see.” You can't have that kind of faith with a double minded personality. You have to know that you know, that you know, that you know, and trust GOD EVEN WHEN IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. Read Isaiah 55:8 where it says “GOD’S thoughts are not our thoughts, and GOD’S ways are not our ways, farther than what we can ever imagine.” I paraphrased that.

See here's what gets us in trouble when we can't see GOD or even try to understand what GOD is doing. We get agitated and start putting our mouths on things and people when we just need to be still and listen to what the spirit of the LORD is saying and stop leaning on our own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek HIS will in all you do, and HE will show you which path to take. We need to stop staggering to the left and to the right and stay straight ahead. Are you stable or un-stable?
Then we have the audacity to start nic picking at folks saying “well if they so this and that, then why are they in a state they’re in?” No you need to shut up and ask yourself that question, and figure out why you're in the state that you're in and why you're an un-stabled, wavering, double minded individual with an unbridled tongue that you can't control because you’re too busy in everybody else's business but your own. You’re sitting there speaking out of both sides of your mouth and your face, when in reality you need a spiritual checkup as well as a reality check. That reminds me of the scripture in James 1:23-24 where it says “For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.”
God can't use you if you’re not willing to be used or corrected. Matter of fact, GOD will use somebody else because HE doesn’t need you, you need HIM. You didn't Call GOD, GOD called you. In Psalms 105:15 says “touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.”With that being said, GOD dropped this in my spirit, touch not yourself and do yourself no harm and the way you do that is get a stable mind, concentrate on what GOD has for you and not what GOD has for everybody else!”
The danger of being doubled mined with an unbridled tongue is the moment GOD sits us aside, then our tongue becomes unbridled because of three reasons or more but I’ll name three that GOD has shown me:
1.Jealousy of somebody else's faith or anointing.
     2. Ignorance of not fully understanding our walk with GOD and our calling in GOD;
     3. Because we want to take short cuts with GOD’S WORD and play
the part that we like and throw the part that we don't like away.
No people, it doesn't work that way. We have to take the good, the bad, the cute, and the ugly, and walk where GOD is leading us willingly in all things under HIS way and not our way. We can have the same faith as the next person; we just need to listen to the Spirit of the LORD, develop a meek and quiet spirit, and bridle our tongues. The Bible says your tongue is like a little spark that will start a huge forest fire, it can't be tamed (I'm paraphrasing). Your tongue is like a scorpion and a snake; a deadly poison with an unruly evil, it bites and it kills (James 3:4-6).  What kind of tongue is in your mouth, a bridled tongue or an unbridled tongue?
We cannot allow ourselves to become double minded with a unwavering, faithless, and unbridled tongue that can’t be tamed. Why you may ask? Because when we do that, we're allowing our mind to become twisted which walks us right into a double minded leviathan spirit. What we need to do is put on the helmet of salvation and the mind of CHRIST. Ephesian 6:17 and Philippians 2:5
Stop being foolish like leaky faucets dripping nonsense from your mouth. Learn to shut it down. Stop being moral dropouts and welcome GOD’S Correction. Develop the mind of CHRIST. If you don't have anything uplifting to say or can’t say it in love; put a muzzle on your mouth, pray about it, take care of you, and keep it moving.  GOD DOESN'T NEED YOUR HELP, HE GOT THIS AND HE HAS YOU! All you have to do is be still and know that HE IS GOD. SO I leave you with Philippians 2:3-6 to ponder upon.

Exercise your brain and practice the mind of Christ with humility. I like the way the NKJV states it “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness (meaning get off your high horse and bring it down a notch) of mind, let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you as it was in CHRIST JESUS, who being in the form of GOD, did not consider it robbery to be equal with GOD.” (Philippians 2:5-6 NKJV)

P.S. “The tongue of the wise makes knowledge appealing, but the mouth of a fool belches out foolishness. The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping his eye on both the evil and the good. Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.” (Proverbs 15:2-4 NLT)
