What Makes You Beautiful?
Hey there Lovebugs :)
Last night, I had the privilege of being one of the speakers to the wonderful ladies of the women's conference line, "A Meeting in the Ladies". Facilitated by my Spiritual Leader and Big Sis, Prophetess Racquel Stroud, this line serves as a place of fellowship, teaching and worship for Women Of God. When the time came for the speakers of the evening to speak, one speaker in particular, Evangelist Lisa Linen, talked about being a "sought out" and "sold out" woman of God. The topic of beauty arose and she went on to explain how a man finds the true beauty of a woman within herself. So, my question to you on this beautiful Tuesday is: what makes you beautiful?
Do you use clothes, accessories, hairstyles and make up to make yourself beautiful or is it the fact that you can maintain your composure under pressure is what makes you appealing? It's time for us to really evaluate our standards of beauty. I Peter 3:3-4 (NIV) says "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." We've all seen attractive women who appear to be beautiful but our perceptions change as soon as we observe them behaving in ways that are just unlady like (cursing, gossiping, lying, etc.) Is that the type of impression that we would like to leave to our families? Friends? Unbelievers?
It's up to us to base our standards of beauty on what the Word has to say. There is nothing wrong with expressing our Femininity through our wardrobe but know that what we wear is not what makes us truly beautiful. It's how we live, how we behave and how we treat one another. I know that you are beautiful inside and out but I have to ask you again: What Makes You Beautiful?
