When God is Out of Alignment, So is Your Life!
Lovebugs, how are you! I had a revelation while preparing for my day. I did my walk for the morning and thanked God for how He is moving in my life. He helped me realize that when He was out of alignment (not first), my life was a mess. Oh but once He got back to being first, things in my life have and are getting back into place! See, God is a jealous God. He will not tolerate being second place. Many people may ask how can we put and keep God in first place? Salvation – A new life in Christ begins with salvation. Giving God your life is the first step to putting God first in your life. Confess that you are a sinner and that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Believe this in your heart and you will be saved! Celebrate because now, you have a new life! Spending time with Him every day – The same way we nurture a relationship with our family and our friends is the same we have to nurture a relationship with God. Besides, how can you grow to love someone if you don’t spend time with them? Start off with prayer. Prayer is simply a conversation with God. Tell Him how thankful you are for being saved, for all of the good in your life and even the not so good. Once you finish praying, sit quietly and enjoy being in His presence. Also, read your bible. God’s Word is alive. God has the ability to speak to us through His Word. God is able and willing to answer each and every question we have. So not only does spending daily time with Him please Him, it makes us feel better too! Obeying Him – When God tells us to do something, we should do it. Why, because we love Him. I struggle with being hardheaded at times and I’ve asked and thanked for His help. God knows what’s best for us. He would never put more on us than we can handle and He will never leave us to fend for ourselves. And let me make something clear. A lot of people struggle with obedience because it requires us to say no to ourselves. I mean, who really wants to say no to ourselves? However, saying no to ourselves is saying yes to God and we say yes because we love Him Surrending all - God desires for us to give him our all, and that includes our agendas, our wants, our will, our hearts, our minds, our spirits and our souls. Surrendering all is no easy task AT ALL especially if you’re use to doing things your own way. Crucifying your flesh is a day to day task but God promises to be with us every step of the way and He even helps us during the process! Now, I must warn you. Once God becomes first in your life, your entire life will change. Change is not easy. He must come before EVERYONE, yes even our children and spouses, our jobs and careers AND even our money. You will not be the same person and unfortunately, not everyone will be accepting of the change. Some people may even remind you constantly of the things you use to do and the person you use to be. But the great thing is IT’S WORTH IT! So dig your heels in, get close to God and watch how He changes things. Though the journey will get rough, don’t worry. He will see you through! Amy :)
